Transparent insurance, self-pay, and payment information.
Our Philosophy
We believe mental health care should be transparent and accessible to everyone. Below you'll find information about insurance, self-pay options, and what to expect.
Shierlock Psychiatry is in-network with many major insurance plans. Coverage details such as copays, deductibles, and prior authorization requirements vary by individual plan. Patients are responsible for understanding their specific mental health benefits.
If you would like assistance verifying benefits, you may contact our office or email a copy of the front and back of your insurance card along with your date of birth, and we can help confirm participation and basic coverage information.
If your insurance plan is out of network, you may choose to receive care on a self-pay basis. Upon request, we can provide a detailed receipt (superbill) that you may submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement, depending on your plan's out-of-network benefits.
We aim to minimize barriers to receiving exceptional mental healthcare by offering convenient payment plans as well as sliding-scale cash-pay options for those who qualify. Please contact our office if you are experiencing difficulty paying for care.
Self-pay options are available for patients who choose not to use insurance or whose plans are out of network.
We require a valid card on file at all times. Your estimated responsibility (or self-pay amount) will be automatically charged the day of and prior to your appointment. Should this transaction be declined, the appointment is subject to cancellation (we will make every effort to reach out first). After insurance processes the claim (if applicable), any overpayment will be refunded and any underpayment will be charged to the card on file. We will make every effort to inform you of any large estimated appointment fees (e.g., over $100); however, it is ultimately the patient's responsibility to understand the terms of their insurance coverage.
We accept: debit, credit, FSA/HSA, and ACH.
In order to make care readily available for those in need, we ask that you provide 24 hours' notice prior to your appointment for any reschedule or cancellation. We charge a $75 fee for cancellations or reschedules within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment and for any no-shows.
